cell phones... how young is too young?

my uncle sent me one of his many forwards this morning and it included a bunch of fun comics. one of them was the one above, and i was just wondering if it makes anyone else shake their head? i think it's crazy for kids who don't even have their licsense yet to be carrying around a cell phone! i understand that for kids who play a lot of sports that it's nice for the mom to be able to get ahold of their kids when need be, but is it really necessary for them to carry around such nice phones?! tell me what ya'll think... maybe i'm just old school and out of touch with the times, but does anyone else feel the same way?

last week's cupcakes were buttermilk cupcakes with chocolate cream cheese icing. they were specifically requested by mike for his birthday, and were decidedly delicious!!!
